How to Host a Webinar
A strong webinar is an audience experience, not a slide deck transmitted over the internet. Start with the outcome the attendee wants and design the session around getting them closer to it.
Choose one outcome
Define what the attendee should understand, decide or be able to do by the end. A narrow promise creates a clearer agenda and better promotion.
Choose the format
Decide between presentation, interview, panel, demonstration, workshop or Q&A. Match the format to the subject rather than defaulting to slides.
Set up registration
Explain the benefit, date, duration and who the session is for. Keep registration friction proportional to the value of the information you need.
Rehearse the operator workflow
Test microphones, cameras, screen sharing, polls, links, presenter handoffs and the exact joining experience. Assign moderation when possible.
Follow up
Send the replay or resources you promised. Segment follow-up when the platform provides reliable behavior data.
